I made what I called the final update, ie the final major update, to this site in March 2018. That has now been renamed the third update, and this one will be the final, ie the final major update.
This came about because last year a film called After Eight: The Story Of Satpal Ram was released; it won the 2025 Whicker Award. The legendary Alan Whicker must be turning in his grave because this film parrots all the main Ram lies. I have not seen it and do not intend to, but I have watched the trailer and read reviews from which it is clear it is a tissue of lies. Ram appears in the film personally and of course he parrots the same lies. I contacted a number of people who had entertained the film-makers. They were not interested, one, a woman in particular, said she understood why young men of colour carried knives in the 1980s. Totally unreal. Leaving that aside, this website contains the documented truth about convicted murderer Satpal Ram, overwhelming documentation of a truth that is so compelling it beggars belief anyone was ever taken in by Ram, his supporters, and their obscene lies.
SATPAL RAM — prison moves and brutality?
but the whole story is much more complex. For one thing, I have overhauled the text, especially of the biblography page, which is the most extensive page on the site. I have standardised the titles
of publications, corrected a handful of errors, and fixed the odd broken link. The biggest error I made was not linking to the memorandum of conviction for Shinji; instead I linked to the Ram memorandum twice. That has now been corrected.
I have also added the full text to literally dozens of articles, including some newly listed. There are still many I could add, for example there are no scans from either the Asian Times or the Morning Star.
I will probably add more in due course as time permits, but they all parrot the same nonsense with the odd variation, so there is not much point.
Re the bibliography, this was originally titled Satpal Ram And The Murder Of Clarke Edward Pearce: A Critical Bibliography Of Printed Sources; it has now been renamed Satpal Ram And The Murder Of Clarke Edward Pearce: A Critical Bibliography Of Printed And On-Line Sources. When I started work on this
website – more than a quarter of a century ago! – there was already quite a lot on-line, including subscription databases, but it was a poor cousin to the modern Internet.
Although I have added much on-line material, I have also dug out and scanned many articles from hard copy. While this website is not quite the most extensive work I have ever produced, it is entirely my baby, and one of which I am immensely proud.
I should add that it was inspired by my colleague Mark Taha, who has inspired me to do so many things. It all started when he brought me a copy of a leaflet issued by the Free Satpal Campaign at the turn of the Millennium, and grew from there.
